Rosedale Abbey, North York Moors National Park

This handsome south facing former Vicarage is believed to have been constructed in the mid 19th Century and was occupied last by the clergy in the 1980s and lies nestled at the head of Rosedale Abbey village. Constructed from stone under a slate roof, the property has an imposing stone elevation with bay windows to the front and is set in substantial mature grounds.

The accommodation, which is laid out on three floors, retains a number of fine period features, such as: moulded cornicing, Victorian fireplaces, sash windows and an attractive entrance vestibule. The property was re-roofed in the mid 1980's and under went a series of improvements, but may benefit from some cosmetic updating.

The property has four well-proportioned reception rooms including south facing sitting room with open fire, south facing study, large dining room and drawing room, breakfast kitchen, rear porch/conservatory, pantry and cloakroom on the ground floor. On the first floor lie four double bedrooms, family bathroom and box room. On the second floor there are a series of attic rooms comprising two further bedrooms and a shower room. The rooms on the second floor are all separated by stud walling, and therefore offer the potential to reconfigure the current accommodation to suit a variety of needs.

The Old Vicarage is set in extremely substantial grounds of around two acres where there is an abundance of mature shrubs and trees, lawn areas, and a lovely decked portion which is beautifully positioned to take in the fabulous countryside which surround the Old Vicarage. On the eastern edge of the property there is a sizeable level grass area which offers commercial potential or the creation of paddocks/paddock. There is ample parking and a range of garages and outbuildings
